Some would argue this picture is a classic example of "out angling" I guess I wouldn't disagree. 😂@DanaLinnBailey is an absolute beast and just as impressive in person. Such a pleasure seeing her at @train_sf
Always a great weekend at the @dubaimusleshow with @sportercom! 👌

Great post from @chris_elkins dropping some knowledge on Ab development. The abdominals are a muscle just like the biceps so you should build them in the same fashion. Add weighted ab exercises to your weekly regimen to help develop your six pack! #Repost (@get_repost)
My friend @smurray_32 made this infographic about abs and I asked him to remix it with my pics since I’ve made significant abdominal development over the years. .
When I was 17, left pic, I was 118 lbs and lean enough to see my abs but I wasn’t lifting weights or consistent for long enough to have significant abdominal development. The abs were visible but they were much smaller than they are now. .
In the pic on the right, I’ve been lifting weights consistently for 4 years and training abs with heavy weight. I’m around 140 lbs yet leaner than the pic on the left. My abs have grown over the years due to weighted decline crunches, leg lifts/leg raises and training them while in a calorie surplus. I didn’t get that ab development from doing cardio or dieting. Dieting for a show helped reveal the gains made but it certainly wasn’t the cause of the gains. .
You’ll often hear people say that abs are made in the kitchen. Well, that’s bulls%!+. Biceps are not made in the kitchen. Quads are not made in the kitchen. Abs are built in the gym or bedroom or wherever the heck you train them. The definition and ability to see them is created through fat loss from a calorie deficit. Losing fat and building muscle aren’t the same thing. If you want to see striations on your quads you diet and lose fat over time by being in a calorie deficit but if you want to grow them then you train them with heavy weight and proper time under tension, frequency and form. It’s the same idea with your abs and the belly fat covering them. But the diet didn’t have anything to do with the development of your abdominal muscles.
Chicken Cacciatore with Zucchini Noodles.
Another @whole30approved recipe that was freakin easy and delicious!
Personally, I’d rather just make the whole dish with chicken thigh or breast rather than drumsticks. I’ll tweak it next time.🍗🍽
Chest and Triceps smoked to start my week. Filmed with my new Canon G7x Mark ii and it’s amazing!! Cannot wait to start pumping out content now that I have a more compact and easy to manage camera! Happy Monday💪🏼
What can I create for a woman who loves to lift and that supports my favorite cause, @WomensStrengthCoalition?
That was the inspiration behind this design. I had a few characteristics I wanted to capture: delicate, feminine, strong yet subtle.
This is what I ultimately came up with. It subsequently hasn’t left my neck since I created it. It’s become a favorite among girls who powerlift. -
50% of proceeds goes to The Women’s Strength Coalition.
Happy Sunday vibes your way!!
Who else is still in love with burgundy? My wardrobe has swiftly become shade heavy over this past year and I can't stop gravitating towards it!😍 so basically my closet is burgundy and black. That's pretty versatile right??😋
Tag me in your Sunday style so I can check ya out!
Bench from today! I’m finallyyyy starting to feel comfortable with the new set up, and getting way more consistent with it 🙌
First two videos are sets of 5 at 137.8 (62.5 kilos) which is def a rep PR. But I also only got a triple for the third set because my leg started to cramp up, so so evidently my hips are NOT totally used to the new set up yet😂 also second set ft. the grindiest bench rep ever
The third video is board press with the widest grip I have ever had in my life. Wide grip is hard but trying new things is fun ☺️
Overall, v happy with how things are going, and VERY much enjoying a few months of higher reps and more volume before I get ready to compete again 🏋🏻♀️
Pepper convinced me that I don’t need buns of steel....i need buns of cinnamon. To the inventor of vegan cinnamon rolls....I could kiss you 💋
🔥 Gym Circuit 🔥
1️⃣12 single leg bench squats (each leg)
2️⃣20 Romanian deadlifts
4️⃣12 step ups (each leg)
5️⃣20 weighted bench jumps
6️⃣20 mountain climbers (slow and controlled- each leg)
Keep your back flat, core engaged and hinge at the hips with the Romanian deadlifts. For the squats and step ups make sure you drive through the heel and don’t allow the knee to dive in.
I also did 3 rounds of birddogs and deadbugs that are not shown in the video. Enjoy!!
Checking out my students’ hand placement in Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog). You’ll see this pose early on in all of my classes. I am particularly vigilant about making sure my students have good alignment in Adho Mukha Svanasana because it helps to train proper alignment for many other poses. Great precision in foundational poses makes a huge difference!
Come practice down dog (and many other poses) with me this week! 😉

✨New Blog Post: “Why I stopped counting calories and macros a long, long time ago” - Link in Bio✨
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I like to tackle the mental battles with this health journey... and share my experiences with them. I’ve tackled body dysmorphia, food addiction, and today I’m addressing calorie and macro counting. I narrate why I think it’s a negative way to approach this journey I also share my approach to stopping and the steps I took.
Now before I have the macro counters coming at me, let me assure you, I’ve counted before.... and this piece is solely based off my experience with it. I lost almost 100lbs (11 years ago) without counting a thing ... but shortly after losing the weight, my obsession for the “perfect, shredded physique” snowballed and led me to counting for a few years while on this journey. I say all this to say, I’ve been there, and at one point was a big advocate. But I’ve come to realize one thing - assigning a number to your food sucks and there are serious mental side effects that come with it. In this post, I detail why it’s not a lifestyle I want to live, or advocate for.
The various before and after photos you see above depict two very different people. On the left is an obsessed, critical, and cynical girl who counted every thing she put in her mouth very early on in her journey. The gal on the right is someone who’s been living a balanced and healthy lifestyle for about 7 years. Sometimes she shredded, sometimes she’s not. And while she’s not as lean, she’s in a much happier place ❤️ The curves don’t hurt either 😏
Have a read (link is in my bio), and please let me know your thoughts in the comments! If you agree, or oppose, I’m totally open to the dialogue! ❤️😘
