Not long ago, I would’ve been a scary, shirtless sight to see. NOT because I was getting fatter - and fatter.
But ‘cause I had been going in reverse. I got to the point that I basically had no freakin’ fat left to cover up the atrophying of my muscles. You can bet your “sweet bippy,” I’d NOT have posted a shirtless photo here. I scared myself. I wasn’t gonna show the world. Can you say - here’s my ribs (and no abs)! Then about 15 months ago, I started lifting weights again and doing body-weight exercises. And boom! I’ve gone from maybe 118 pounds (I was too freaked out to weigh myself) to almost 128 today.
I’m shooting for 142 - my weight at around 18 years old when I had 6 percent body fat and could bench and squat a LOAD of weight.
But unlike when I was 18, this time I’m fueled by a plant-based, #vegan diet. I became a vegan about the time I started weight lifting again.
Imagining just how “jacked” I’m gonna be - at my “advanced old age” (ha ha) - is one of the things that drives me to workout almost daily. Can you say, here comes - His JackedNess!
🍽 What’s the BEST Diet? 🍽
This has been an argument among most of us for much too long.
We talk about Weight Watchers, Keto diet, Paleo, IIFYM, Carb cutting, detoxes, Intermittent Fasting, etc... Do these work?
You bet they do!
They work because they are restricting calories in some way, shape or form.
It’s not about the combination of foods that make them work. It’s not about the timing that makes them work. It’s really not even about the foods eaten that makes them work.
It’s strictly a calorie deficit that makes them all work for weight loss.
The more important question should be: what type of eating can you sustain long term so you can lose the weight and KEEP IT OFF??
QUESTION: would anyone be interested in me posting a full post of all the products I want to use up/hit pan on this year?
Just posting this photo from the other night when I had removed my foundation from half my face, to mostly see the difference the @maybelline concealer had provided. Still not sure I can see it - the concealed under eye is on the left.
Hump-day move 👆🏼👆🏼
The exercise ball oblique crunch. Really test your core strength by using the ball 💪🏻 Ensure you’re drawing your belly button in, keeping your chest open and exhaling as you crunch up - and of course switch sides ✨💪🏻
💥Leg workout crushed!💥 Oh em gee 😫😫😫 I’m seriously sitting on my ass cuz I can no longer move it 🤪
Leg day is my least favorite but I know it’s my largest muscle group and burns the most calories and has most strength. 💥💥💥💥💥 Today’s BEAST leg workout was: ✅ Sumo squats: 15 reps with 25# weights, 12 reps with 35# and 8 reps with 45# and drop set with 35# (rest 30-60 sec between sets) ✅ Superset: 15 alt front lunges with 20# weights, followed by 15 step ups to rear lunge with 20#; rest 30-60 sec and 12 reps of each with 25# then 8 reps each with 35#. ✳️ Giant set: 15 squats with 30# weights, followed with 15 Bulgarian squats each leg with same weight and then 15 single leg deadlift with 20#. Rest and followed with 12 reps of all using 25# then 8 reps with 35#. ✳️Weighted calf raises: 30 sec single leg raises with 25# DB, followed by 30 sec seated calf raises with 2-35#. Complete with in and out Abs on bench for 30 seconds. Rest and repeat all again.
Stretch and be thankful we made it! 💪😁

#minsgame day 16! Today is the halfway point and unfooortunately with this game it’s still all uphill from here 😂 saying sayonara to cute cat socks from the same friend as the other day from a trip to Japan (swipe to see cat butts!); two expired Betadine throat gargles; Aesop shaving brush (I LOVE this but I have lots of lotion to get through and realistically I won’t use this for years... and it’s been sitting in my shower for four years so I’m sure it’s gross); a cute af tea steeper and it’s base (I had two and I kept one); a MAC box from the Charlotte Olympia collection; a travel brush; a cute jangly dangly bookmark that we used to sell at my old office and six packets of ketchup from McDonald’s I found in the fridge (ha). #minimalistchallenge#minimalistgame#minimalistgoals#hoardernomore#useitorloseit#mcdonaldsketchup#declutter#gelastoneminsgame

“If the Brain were so simple that we could understand it, we would be so simple that we couldn’t.” Emerson M. Pugh. 👨🔬
This is one of my favourite quotes and is definitely food for thought. It speaks to how complex the brain is, and as a result, how complicated humans can be. Well, that’s an understatement! 😕
The human brain, for the most part, is still a mystery and it’s complexity makes it difficult to study, and even frustrating at times. 😕 But this is also what draws people to the study of neuroscience and is what makes humans so unique and fascinating. 🙌
I can certainly vouch for humans being frustrating and complicated—mine in particular. 😕 But I guess her brain isn’t quite as simple as it seems... 😏
Do you have a favourite quote? Why not share it in the comments?👍 Happy Monday everyone! 🙌

While this foundation has been good, it does tend to bunch up under my glasses. It's a light weight serum formula for light to medium coverage, and is buildable. Mostly though, I just want to get done with it so that I can move on to other things in my collection.it would be wrong to toss it now, right? 🙈
