This was me, eyes shut, floating in amniotic fluid like #Laika , the space dog inside the #Sputnik . I never thought I was once like... how can I describe it? maybe like #Bowie said: “a starman waiting in the sky”, or a cosmic fetus dreaming of the world out there. Who could have imagine, that I would remember the #voice of my mother humming. Her heart beat. The vibration of #words echoing inside me... ‘moon’, ‘star ’, ‘#iloveyou ’. Her touch. The sun warming the walls of her dark venter. She, slow-dancing me. My body growing beneath her skin, and the smell. The smell of muscle, hope, organ, fluid, blood, bone, soul, love. Who would have thought this would be Me, Luna Scott? born 5 months and 1 day after this image was taken and that when it happened I would recognize the #feeling of water dropping on me, the #sound of rain, the #taste of melting cloud and the #smell of humid ground.
*My mama says that I never cried, that I came to this world with a #smile so contagious that cures #sadsouls . I like to think of #life this way, knowing that we can be a #rainbow in someone’s tempest. In the night, she kisses me goodnight with #lullabies and #bedtimestories of our #adventures ; sometimes whispers: ‘without you l wouldn’t know there is a #Neverland for traveling teddies and a #fairy for lost pacifiers. Thank you for letting me stay a #child and helping me believe that magic is inside each one of us and #miracles happen everywhere. Fly high my #butterfly , you belong to the #stars .’
*Looking at this picture, I realize that she is right, that even when I was a tadpole I understood the meaning of life, what really matters. That we come to this world blessed with our own #music , with an appreciation for the tinny moments of life and a fascination for every little detail. That we are makers, dreamers, achievers, creators, inventors, explorers, discoverers, be-comers. That Life is so much better than what we think (I know, because I see beauty everywhere and everything is exciting!)
*It truly is a magnificent thing to be floating in infinite space where anything is possible. That this is what we have stumbled and tumbled into is a miracle I am in awe of.~
#HappyBirthday to me!
Please enjoy the second video of my 12 days of Christmas series! Tim Karplus and I cozied up in my living room and covered my all time cheesy favorite cheesy Christmas song "Merry Christmas Darling" by Karen Carpenter. I had never realized the word "Christmasing" could be used so appropriately until I heard this song. We are also joined but the adorable @iamlilbub Yulelog for an added cheese factor. 😻🧀✨Full YouTube video in link in Bio!!☝🏻
