Goodmorning 🌞 I am @dea_marcela and I will be doing KONTEMPOs #wowwednesday today! Today I will show you some of my work - so join me and stay tuned for the journey 🌱🌿🙏🏽 These pictures are from my contribution for the #isthisknit exhibition 2017. The work is called 'The Engineered Body' - as every single stitch and part of the knit is closely engineered to be supportive and performance improving for the body in our everyday lives. My project aims to challenge the regular, visual and sensual perception of what knit can be for our body & how knit can be created through the merge of new knit technology, functionality, physiology yet aesthetical design through a holistic and responsible mindset.
I am Dea-Marcela and I am currently doing my final Masters year @designskolenkolding where I am specializing in Sustainable Material & Textile Innovation. I'm looking forward to keep you guys in the loop during the day today ➰➰➰➰
Back Pain & Posture.
Probably the most common area that people approach me about, everyone seems to have a weak/painful lower back, and quite often that’s not the case.
Just because you feel pain in your lower back, doesn’t mean that’s where the problem is stemming from.
There is usually underlying tension as well as weakness somewhere on your body that is resulting in you feeling lower back pain.
If you have poor posture and your pelvis is tilted forwards....guess what, that puts pressure on your lower back.
If you have weak glutes and you never train them properly....guess what, that puts excess load though your lower back.
If you always stand with a lazy posture and spend your days wearing 👠 and carrying 👜, guess what, you’re making your lower back work harder than it needs to.
If your quads are tight and you never train your sling systems.......your lower back will hurt!
Posture is key to staying pain free and moving well. Plus a good posture makes you look more confident...so it’s definitely worth spending some time on improving your posture and releasing and or strengthening certain muscles on your body.

One thing I have learned in life ~ Participation is required. When you show up for life, and meet the moment ~ head on... EVERYTHING is possible.
Yogi Bhajan used to say, "It's not the life you live, its the courage you bring to it!
This is the year to call upon all your courage and give yourself permission to LIVE LIFE on Your TERMS!
So tell me, what are you Celebrating on this New Moon?
The benefits of Kale
1. Strengthen Your Immune System. Kale’s impressive concentration of nutrients strengthens the immune system and fights viruses and bacteria. Kale has more iron than beef, making it a great source of this valuable mineral for vegans and vegetarians. It helps more oxygen get to your blood and greatly helps those who are anemic.
2. Anti-inflammatory. The omega-3 fatty acids in kale help fight and alleviate arthritis, autoimmune disorders and asthma. The vitamin C content helps relieve stiff joints.
3. Fighting Disease. Kale, like other dark green veggies, may be helpful in preventing various cancers such as colon, prostate and ovarian. Its abundant vitamin K content is important for bone health, forestalling the effects of osteoporosis. And the folic acid and B6 provide cardiovascular support and prevent heart disease.
So you suffer from anxiety? Floatation therapy shows a lot of promise in helping people deal with anxiety. It gives the nervous system a chance to fully relax. Studies have shown that the level of relaxation achieved in a float session is similar to what would be achieved with anti-anxiety drugs or meditation. Floating also allows you to become more aware of your own body, giving you a chance to lie still, control your breathing and focus on your heart beat.
For first timers, we offer 3 x 60min Float Sessions for $165. We understand your first time can be a bit overwhelming, which is why we encourage newbies to come back and float again. If you do not feel the benefits the first time around, we guarantee you will the second time.

Wake up fresh for the day!
To wake up feeling energized and well-rested is the best feeling you can get in the morning. Starting the day with a lot of energy means you will be more productive in achieving your goals for the day.
To do that, first drink a glass of water immediately after you wake up to kick up your metabolism and de-fog your brain. Then, try to engage in some sort of physical activity whether it is a morning walk or a daily fitness class. Being physically active in the morning will not only wake you up but you will also feel better and this will put you in a better mood during the day! Finally, it is now the right time for a good healthy breakfast meal to head for the day! Feel fresh; feel healthy! Greetings from Baraka!

The color yellow is rarely worn once temperatures dip below seventy degrees. After all, yellow represents many of the things we love about warm weather: sunny days, lemonade...
So it is nice to see how @giogaravini wears the warm weather color out of hibernation. This yellow pattern looks great on @giogaravini, and this dress works both day and night and can instantly brighten up the gloomiest day. This lemony #translatoroutfit is definitely fab enough to make us consider yellow as a year round option. What do you think? 🌼🌼🌼 #Repost @giogaravini with @get_repost

Biggest congratulations to one of our clients & great friend, @soph_wilss on her amazing transformation.
We discovered a process with Sophie that helped her create a new outlook on her own health which in return helped create healthy, sustainable habits.
Once these newly created habits were formed, the body responded & her health started to align. So proud of you Soph! Thank you for all the effort you invested!
It doesn't start with push ups or crunches - but with a decision. A decision followed with action into a process that requires support to help build new habits & another perspective on your health.

It’s a bad week, not a bad life 🤷🏼♀️ My prep for the day...Waking up, drinking hot honey and lemon, having a nice hot cleanse and moisturise, cuddling Ella, putting my make up on, tackling the wild hair, eating a good and healthy breakfast, pulling up my sassy pants, finding a quote to inspire the young people at work after a tough session, and smiling ☀️ Instagram is full of smiles and beautiful people, but far too often I see others wilting under it because all they see are perfect snapshots of peoples lives. The reality is, we all struggle sometimes, we all have to force ourself into a mode at times that gets us through the day. It’s nothing to be ashamed of...and it means we are STRONG 👸🏽 I really hope you all have a “happy hump day,” but if you don’t, then there is always tomorrow... #eyebagsarereal
I like to read non fiction alongside fiction when I am reading. Fiction gives me the escapism and the imagination whereas non fiction gives me the knowledge, tips, advice and motivation. However this time, I feel like my non fiction is giving me the escapism too! @fearnecotton’s latest book, CALM, is just incredible. I am halfway and LOVING it! I have already incorporated some of the aspects of this book into my everyday living and yesterday I meditated for the first time. Just for 20 minutes but I loved it. My phone goes off at 8pm every night now so that I can relax and wind down my brain and I am more aware of my breathing.
I absolutely adored Fearne’s first book, HAPPY, which I read last year so I am really pleased to add this one to my bookshelf. I hope she continues to write books like this because I really enjoy them. .
Happy Wednesday ❤️

I've been talking a lot about equanimity in class the last couple of weeks. Using our practice to access this place of feeling centred, using tricky poses to test our composure. The irony is I've been feeling anything but 'equanimity' at the moment, silly things pushing my buttons. But that's okay we're not robots, every day we stay afresh and try navigate ourselves back

"Today many of us sense a much greater yet untapped potential in our intimate relating than what we’ve experienced before. We intuit that our intimate relationships can be a source of personal power, creativity and exquisite pleasure. We’re willing to take the dive and put in the work, but where do we learn the steps to this divine dance?" So grateful to have my beloved Nic facilitating this monthly workshop in Sydney. Relationships are such a profound part of our lives yet many of us do not take the time to nurture them. I am so excited to build a community where we can come together to grow, explore & connect-learning skills & supporting each other to have more fulfilling, enriching and loving relationships in our lives. Whatever your relationship/sexual/gender orientation & identity, everyone is welcome to join. Looking forward to meeting you 😘 (Link in Bio ✨) Photo Credit: @ryanhenwoodwhite 🙏
Northern Sydney Wellbeing Officers Norm Pounder and Ken Vessey have visited the Spinal Ward, Royal North Shore Public Hospital, St.Leonards Sydney many times over the past years and are always struck by the caring nature of the hospital staff and the courage of the injured persons that they visit. Their recent visit to meet 21-year-old Josh Farr was no different. They were also fortunate to meet his mum, Allison and dad, Martin, who both displayed great love and care for their son, Josh.
Josh, along with five other friends, was involved in a single-vehicle crash between Blayney and Bathurst during the early hours of 17 December 2017 and he was airlifted to Sydney for immediate surgery on serious back injuries. He was in the intensive care unit for a time but has now been moved to the hospital’s renowned Spinal Care Ward for treatment, assessment and rehab.
Josh has been moved by his family and friends that have continually visited him to give him support and courage. His mum Allison commented that they have been overwhelmed by the support, in many forms, being shown to Josh and family, from members of the local community. Norm and Ken were not surprised by this, as they are truly a remarkable family showing such strength, love and courage.
Josh played local rugby league as a talented centre with the Blayney Bears Senior Rugby League Club and his younger brother Lachie is a member of the Newcastle Knights RL Club Under 20s squad. He admitted that he was a keen follower of the NRL and his favourite team is the North Queensland Cowboys.
The volunteers presented Josh with a Men of League Foundation polo shirt and cap. Josh remarked that he would be able to give his Pop his old Men of League cap, as he now had a brand new one. They wished Josh their very best wishes on his road to recovery along with Allison and Martin. Josh and his family expressed their thanks for the visit and Norm and Ken told them they will stay in touch.
