What a serious treat it was watching Opera in the Village showcase South Pacific last night!
I was left reeling with gladness and the timeless show touches on some VERY relevant prejudice issues these days!
To anyone in the Calgary area: go see the show this weekend!
Do you know how hard it is to find a second job that allows you to work from anywhere, help others just like you, stick to your health and fitness goals? KEEPS YOU ACCOUNTABLE?
These are just some of the reasons I became a coach. My passion is helping others, I just didn't know how I could. I hated school, I could never focus on something for too long because I just hated not being social. Which is weird, because I can be very shy.
Coaching has not only allowed me to pay some extra bills, but through my years of bad habits, if I fall off track (which we all do, even as coaches), I have this group and members counting on me that keeps me going. And has made me stronger mentally, emotionally and still working on physically but I am getting there.
I have some serious goals this coming year, and would love to share them with you.
If you are just curious about what we do as coaches, feel free to join. There is ZERO commitment. Message me to be added!
Hope to see you there! xoxo

Patience - something I absolutely SUCK AT.
Especially when I'm sick 😷 (if anyone wants to bring me a peppermint tea that would be fab) but Can we be real here for a sec? Patience when it comes to your body is crucial. I'm going to let you know that you aren't going to drop two sizes in a week or 40lbs in one month. You're going to fall off track every now and then - its inevitable, we are human. Sometimes you will go a day or maybe even 2 without hitting the gym. Your weight is going to fluctuate and you aren't going to be your best 100% of the time. Once you hit those lows You WILL get back up, learn, and become stronger because you know what it takes to get past ground 0. Nothing great is ever accomplished without a few bumps in the road so in the wise words of Dori, just keep swimming 🐠🐳
Waiting for my new order to come through @yellowstonenutra 😍 their new flavour sour patch kids PRE WORK OUT IS TO DIE FOR same with their funky peach 🍑 flavour 🤤

Leg Series on #Triad Ball
This series helps with hip mobility.
✨Place the ball under your sacrum (between your tail bone and lower back) to support your lower back and to give you an opportunity to open up the front of your hips and thighs.
✨Feet are relaxed.
✨Glutes and inner thighs engaged
✨Ribs pulling down to hips
✨Arms anchored, triceps on 🔥.
⭐️Toe Taps - maintain the angle at the knee.
⭐️Double Toe Tap - finding your seat and hamstrings on the way down, abs on the ways up.
⭐️Circles - keep them small, try parallel legs (not turned out), finding inner thighs, 4x each direction.
⭐️Scissors - reaching legs away from your centre - keeping abs pulling towards the mat - #opposition , inner thighs close and working.
⭐️Bicycle 4-6x, reverse, reaching away from your centre, bend your knee and slide your foot on the mat towards your glutes and bringing your knee towards your centre as the other leg reaches away.
⭐️Hip flexor, quad stretch to finish with.

Pilates exercises are powered by abdominal muscles of the powerhouse, but sometime we use less efficient muscles to support the movement.
It's a process and with practise and correct instructions you start activating the right muscles.
In case you would like to get stronger with Pilates, check out my latest blog about this to get started or book a 30 minute assessment with me when you sign up to subscribe to my newsletters. (Both links in the bio).
There's something I want everyone to know... and I think it's important for everyone to be reminded of how deserving you are of love. I just don't mean the kind of love that you get from you partner, friends or family, but love from yourself. The past year I really discovered the importance of self Love b/c IF YOU CANT LOVE YOURSELF - HOW CAN YOU LOVE OTHERS AROUND YOU? The answer is you simply just can't. YOU - yes you!! Deserve to look in the mirror and look at yourself in the eye and say I AM WORTH LOVE.

I'm thinking of making #yycselfloveclub first selflove program with nutrition guides and healthy practices to get your relationship back on track with food! What do you guys think?

Since I am always asked how I started doing henna and why I like it, here is a little background for y'all 😊
Being at a young age, art has always been one of my passions that I pursued ever since. Moving to Canada from my home Pakistan made me feel like I lacked my culture and traditions. I always loved the form of henna (mehndi) art ever since I was little. I loved getting henna for our traditional occasions and after moving to Canada I missed the fact that I couldn't have any henna for our events or traditional celebrations, which made me curious and motivated me to practice henna art on my self. I practiced and taught my self the delicate artwork and ever since have kept going. I decided to take this form of art and pursue it as my side career which has ever since helped me grow personally and artistically. Henna has become therapeutic and consoling and has taught me to be patient and confident. If I were to advise anyone who is passionate about anything in their life, is to push your self and always be determined to be the best you can ever be ❤

Hey MYCN community, please meet a travelling Moksha yogi to our studio, miss Laura Soohen!! She's going to be popping in as a guest teacher this coming Sunday through Tuesday. Hope you can hit up some of her classes while she's in town. .
Here's a little bit about Laura:
Laura started her Moksha journey in Nanaimo, after years of bikram, and hatha yoga in Calgary. Joining the Moksha team in Nanaimo as an energy exchanger in the summer of 2013 she completed her Moksha teacher training in Los Angeles, CA, February 2014. She has since completed her training in trauma informed yoga, kids yoga, yin, and flow as recently as May 2017, in New York City. As well as training in deep flow massage. .
Yoga is a valuable healing tool for Laura, and she continues to discover the importance of mindfulness, breath, and awareness both on and off the mat. Curiosity, play, gratitude, and live to learn are key to Laura in her life and her yoga practice; the 7 pillars of Moksha have inspired these even more and it is a foundation she continues to fall more in love with. .
Laura teaches in Vancouver, Burnaby, and Squamish, BC, and has been a guest teacher in St. John's NL. She is incredibly excited to come home to teach in Calgary where it all started. .
